The Manuel Ballbé Chair participates in the 2nd Knowledge Transfer Conference in Social Sciences at UAB

The Manuel Ballbé Chair in Human Security and Global Law participated in the 2nd Knowledge Transfer Conference in Social Sciences, organized by the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and held on April 16 in the Rectorate’s assembly hall.

The conference brought together leading experts with the aim of sharing experiences, tools, and collaboration models designed to strengthen the social impact of research in the fields of social sciences and the humanities.

Under the theme “From research to impact: services, networks and knowledge transfer pathways in social sciences and humanities,” the meeting highlighted that knowledge transfer in these fields takes diverse and complementary forms, such as research networks, collaboration with the public sector and businesses, the development of applied tools, and contributions to standardization processes.

The event was opened and closed by Rosa Maria Sebastián, Vice-Rector for Innovation, Transfer and Entrepreneurship at UAB. Within the framework of the conference, the director of the Manuel Ballbé Chair SHDG, Roser Martínez, presented the experience of the industrial PhD UAB–TÜV Rheinland (R. Díaz), which she co-directs with M. A. Serrat, focused on the preventive management of systemic risks. This initiative was presented as a clear example of sustained collaboration between academic knowledge and the professional environment, with a direct impact on the transfer and application of scientific knowledge.
