A tribute to the master
Manuel Ballbé
About us
The Manuel Ballbé Chair in Human Security and Global Law was established as a tribute to the legacy of Dr. Manuel Ballbé, a pioneer in the modern conception of comprehensive security. Our mission is to continue and expand his revolutionary vision, which advocates a preventive, transversal, and integrative approach to Human Security. We are dedicated to: Advanced research at the intersection of Law and Human Security. Training professionals in prevention and new risk management. Promoting a human-centered security culture that respects fundamental rights. Collaborating with public, private, and civil society entities to implement innovative security solutions. At the Manuel Ballbé Chair, we understand security as a holistic concept that encompasses everything from environmental protection to food, labor, and social security. We work to build a safer, healthier, and more sustainable society, where risk management goes hand in hand with the preservation of human rights and ecological balance. Our vision is to be leaders in transforming the security paradigm, placing people at the center and promoting a preventative and integrative approach that responds to the challenges of the 21st-century Risk Society.
