Joao E. Quevedo Reymunde, new doctor in Human Security and Global Law

Defense of the Thesis by Joao E. Quevedo Reymunde

On November 20, Joao E. Quevedo Reymunde successfully defended his doctoral thesis entitled “The Broad Reflective Balance of Human Security and Bioethics” in the Graduation Hall of the Faculty of Law. This defense culminates a work that provides a profound reflection on the intersection between human security and bioethical principles, at a time when global challenges demand innovative legal responses.


The thesis was directed and tutored by Dr. Roser Martínez, director of the Manuel Ballbé Chair, and had a highly prestigious jury: Dr. Joaquín Rodríguez Álvarez, professor in the area of Administrative Law and the Master's in AI and Digital Law at the UAB; Dr. José Julián Isturitz, former director general of Heritage and Contracting of the Government of the Canary Islands and expert in security and emergencies; and Dr. Fernanda Bestetti de Vasconcellos, from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil).
