Doctoral Thesis Defenses of Justo Garzón Ortega

On May 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., the doctoral thesis defense of Justo Garzón Ortega will take place at the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Law of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB).

The thesis, entitled “La regulación jurídica de las hermandades y cofradías de Semana Santa ante los retos de la sostenibilidad en el siglo XXI”, examines the role of Law in the adaptation of these traditional institutions to contemporary sustainability challenges.

This predoctoral research work is part of the PhD Programme in Global Law and Human Security at UAB and has been supervised by Professor Carlos Padrós Reig and Professor Roser Martínez Quirante.
